Mindfulness meditation has become a hugely popular way of helping people relax and gain insight into the way they live. Mindfulness courses at Oscailt Integrative Health Centre, 8 Pembroke Road, Dublin 4 run for eight consecutive weeks with weekly classes and a one-day workshop. Yoga Therapy Ireland is holding a Yoga for Children course for yoga teachers early next year. Open only to qualified yoga teachers, the course will complement the Social, Personal Health Education curriculum in primary schools.

It will run on three days – January 8th, February 12th and March 12th. Cost €375. For details, tel: 01 2352120.

The RTÉ Health of the Nation programme makers are currently looking for recruits for their next series.

Dr Mark Hamilton and Dr Nina Byrnes will concentrate on three people’s health journeys as well as seeing people in their mobile clinics which will be visiting Dublin, Cork and Limerick in January.
