Do you think you have a healthy lifestyle?

I try to have as healthy a lifestyle as I can. I try to eat healthily and do some exercise every week – though I do find it tough as I am always so busy with my show and trying to juggle all my other commitments.

I do Pilates once a week at least and then I do Bikram yoga once or twice a week, as much as I can squeeze in basically. I love it so much, I find it helps me to escape more than anything. You can’t beat a walk on the beach as well to clear the head. Coming from Malin in Donegal I need to be beside the water as it reminds me of home and I find the sea air very invigorating.

Do you get your five a day?

Well I do try, I love fruit and I eat vegetables with my dinner. My show lasts four hours and I usually grab a piece of fruit midway through to keep my energy levels up. I try to substitute fruit for chocolate as I have a sweet tooth.

Do you worry?

Worry is my middle name. In my next life I’m coming back with no worries in the world. I worry about everything. In fact, I probably make up things to worry about. I am always convincing myself I have left the iron/hair straighteners/oven on as soon as I leave the house. I don’t know how many times I have had to go back to check they are switched off. And don’t get me started on worrying about my family.

What do you do to relax?

Pilates and yoga are my way to escape and unwind for an hour or an hour and a half. Listening to music also helps me to relax, except when I am on air as I always seem to be chair-dancing. I do find it hard to relax and wind down, as something is always ticking over in my head.

What’s your unhealthiest habit?

I think worry and stress add to having an unhealthy lifestyle. I do enjoy the odd glass of wine, but overall I’m not that bad.
