Qualified nurse Aisling Marshall was 23 years of age when she injured her back due to heavy lifting. When her condition got progressively worse, she sought medical advice.
However, after numerous scans, including a CT and MRI scan, all that the surgeons could find were a number of bulging discs. Finally, Aisling was told there was nothing that could be done for her and that she would have to live with her condition.
"I was put on morphine for the pain and was told that I would have to keep taking it for the rest of my life," recalls Aisling. "My nursing career was over at 23 years of age and because I couldn't sit or stand for longer than three minutes at a time, my job prospects were completely limited.
"In the end I became totally depressed and had to go on anti-depressants; basically I felt that my life was ruined and that I had no future ahead of me."
Just by chance, however, when Aisling's mother was out shopping one day, she met a friend who told her about spinology. After a couple of weeks of spinology treatments, the pain in Aisling's back began to subside and she reduced her intake of morphine. A year later, Aisling no longer suffers from chronic back pain and is no longer on pain-killers.
"Now I'm back working as a nurse - something that I thought would never happen - and my back feels fine," adds Aisling. "My quality of life has been restored and I literally feel like somebody has handed me my life back. I don't know what I would have done without spinology - it has saved my life."
