Cervical Check programme gets under way
Cervical Check, the new Government-funded national cervical screening programme, has registered more than 3,800 GPs, practice nurses, women’s health, family planning and well woman clinics to deliver free smear tests to women aged 25-60. Smear tests are best taken mid-cycle (10-14 days after the first day of a period). Smear tests are recommended every three years for those aged 25-44 and every five years for those aged 45-60. Classes in hypnobirthing
Hypnobirthing classes aim to help women cope better in labour by learning in advance specific relaxation, self hypnosis and breathing techniques. Making Your New Year’s Resolutions Happen is the theme of a free public talk at 11am on Saturday, January 24th at St Matthew’s National School, Cranfield Place, Sandymount, Dublin. Coping with ADHD in college
An event aimed at helping teenagers with ADHD progress onto third-level education will take place next week. Among the speakers will be Bridget Gormley, disability learning support adviser at NUI Maynooth, Clodagh Ní Gallichoir and Eileen Daly of the National Learning Network.
