RDS access and mobility exhibition

Everything from vehicle conversions to bathroom and kitchen aids, prosthetic limbs, and specially adapted baby seats, cots and tricycles will be on show at the 2008 Access Mobility Exhibition in the Main Hall, RDS, Ballsbridge, Dublin on Friday and Saturday.

The exhibition will also include a purpose-built mobility-friendly house and will have powered and manual wheelchairs and scooters available for testing. Opening hours 10am-5pm each day. Admission is free. See also www.accessandmobility.ie

Health and Yoga at Temple Bar

Taking stock of your lifestyle

Good Food, Great Life is a new lifestyle and food journal (Veritas, €6.95) compiled by dietitian Paula Mee. Essentially, the book gives people a chance to record and monitor their intake of food and fluids, levels of exercise and emotional triggers for eating.

Explaining various personality types

An introductory workshop on the Enneagram system of explaining different personality types will be led by Enneagram trainer Moya Morris on June 28th and 29th in the Tullywood Lodge, Co Cavan. The workshop will focus specifically on how you can improve your relationships with better understanding of differences.

Policy document for care of elderly

The Minister of State with responsibility for older people, Máire Hoctor, has launched the Health Service Executive's (HSE) training DVD Recognising and Responding to Elder Abuse in Residential Care Settings and a policy document called Responding to allegations of Elder Abuse. It coincided with World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.

Launching the policy document, Ms Hoctor said: "Whatever form elder abuse may take, it is simply unacceptable and that is the message we have to send out."
