Workshop aims to help you face your fear
The Many Faces of Fearis the title of a workshop on Saturday, November 28th, 10am-5pm, facilitated by psychotherapist Áine Tubridy. The workshop will look at the origins of panic attacks, tension headaches, obsessional behaviour and depression. Cost €100. Weekend of yoga and mindfulness
A weekend workshop combining yoga and mindfulness meditation goes ahead in the Rusheen Yoga Centre, Kenmare, Co Kerry from November 20th-22nd. The yoga will be taught by resident yoga teacher June Durkin while the mindfulness meditation will be taught by Marjo Oosterhoff from the Passaddhi Meditation Centre in west Cork. Conference on nurturing children
Sue Palmer, one of the UK's most respected child development and education experts, will be a guest speaker at a conference entitled Nurturing Bright, Balanced Children in Modern Timeson Saturday, November 28th. Other speakers include Dr John Sharry, child and family psychotherapist and director of the Parents Plus programme, and Seamus Morrissey, co-ordinator of the Incredible Years Programme in Galway. Demonstration of one-pot wonders
Chef Ruth Wassell will cook up a series of one-pot wonders in a cookery demonstration on Saturday at noon in the kitchen showrooms, Houseworks, on 11-15 Upper Erne St, Dublin 2. Two new websites for mental health
Two new websites to help young people look after their mental health have just been launched. The first is a youth mental health website, ReachOut.Com, and the second, www.heademotionalwellbeing.com, contains first-hand accounts of sufferers and creative activities which promote emotional wellbeing.
