Resolving differences Coping with difference in school and at play is the theme of a talk at 8pm tonight, organised by the Cleft Lip and Palate Association of Ireland. The talk will be given by a member of Changing Faces, a UK organisation which encourages people to tackle disfigurement with confidence.

A different approach
Psychotherapist Bill Callanan will give a public lecture on how the approach to health has changed over time on Friday, March 7th at 8pm in the Swift Theatre, Arts Building, Trinity College Dublin. The talk will look at how the holistic view of health contrasts with the current tendency to view symptoms as an enemy to be defeated as speedily and decisively as possible. Admission €25. Science without the jargon
Find out about the latest research on heart health, environmentally friendly chemistry, brain function and genetics at AccessScience 2008 on Monday next at the O'Reilly Hall, UCD, Belfield.
There, postgraduate students from UCD's Conway Institute will compete to explain their research in clear, jargon-free language from 1.30pm to 4.30pm.
The competition will be hosted by Pat Kenny with a celebrity judging panel. Admission is free.
