Experiments with yoga

Key questions for patients to ask
There are three key questions patients should ask their healthcare professional, according to the new health literacy campaign. These are: What is my problem? What do I need to do? And why is it important for me to do this?
The National Adult Literacy Agency says over 50 per cent of the population is affected in some way by literacy difficulties which can affect their understanding of diagnosis and treatment options. Organic cooking in Co Leitrim

A call for peace and harmony
The 55-year-old Indian humanitarian and spiritual leader, Mata Amritananda Mayi (Amma), is back in Dublin this week, spreading her message of peace and harmony. People queue for hours to receive her embrace. A programme of live music and meditations will also be held at the National Show Centre, Cloghran, Fingal, Dublin tomorrow and Thursday from 9.30am until late. Admission is free.
Coeliac discussion in Galway
The Western branch of the Coeliac Society of Ireland will hold a talk on the disease on Friday at 7.30pm in the Arts Millennium Building of NUI Galway. Gastroenterologist Dr Lucinda Jackson will talk about the disease, and Denise O'Callaghan from Delicious Gourmet Foods will display gluten-free products. Admission: €5
