Are you an exerciser?

I exercise two or three times a week.

What's your favourite form of exercise?

Five-a-side soccer on a Friday is king but in the general scheme of things jogging makes you feel great.

Anything you'd like to try?

Yes lots, I wish I could swim properly, I'm brutal at it. I only went skiing once and I got a bad injury.

Do you eat healthily?

Pretty much, my wife is a cook so nine times out of 10 what I eat is green, lean, balanced and fresh.

What's your unhealthy vice?

I overeat because I never know when I've had enough and I like to eat late at night. I could eat bread until the cows come home and I love all dairy products. And then, of course, there are potatoes, those little minxes. I love them. I don't smoke but I like all aspects of drinking.

What foods do you love to eat?

Anything Audrey cooks. She's an award-winner when it comes to cooking and makes wonderful vodka pasta, or pasta with asparagus tips, peas and a creamy sauce, penne arrabiata, steak with blue cheese, the list goes on.

Is there anything about your body you'd like to change?

I'd like to be a bit smaller, five foot, seven inches is just too tall for Kylie.

Would you ever consider plastic surgery?

No, surgery should only ever be approached when the alternative is my imminent departure.

What's your attitude to exercise?

It's never something you will run willingly towards but you feel great after.

As the Christmas party season gets into full swing we will no doubt be eating and drinking more.

According to the Irish Nutrition & Dietetic Institute (INDI), we gain at least five pounds over the holiday period so here are some tips on how to avoid that post-festive bulge.

Before you attend a drinks party, eat some food beforehand so you don't nibble on high calorie snacks and when you get there stick to popcorn rather than nuts and tomato-based dips rather than high calorie creamy dips.

To avoid alcoholic excess, drink a spritzer or sparkling water after every second drink.

"Large tins of chocolates and biscuits are a disaster around Christmas," according to Margot Brennan of the INDI. She recommends pouring out a small amount into a bowl rather than passing the tin around the couch during the Christmas movie.

Get out and take a brisk refreshing walk during the holidays rather than sitting in watching TV.
