Earlier this decade, the house of Chanel issued an edict that it would prosecute anyone misusing the company name, which had started to become a generic term. A more worthy object of both derision and legal proceedings would be the host of C-style jackets and suits which continue to be pedalled and (even more tragically) worn. Two years ago, Yohji Yamamoto produced an ironic take on Chanel which was charming, but the usual poor imitations - such as this one - are just sad. To be avoided.
