If you were appointed Minister for Health, what would be your first priority? Extension of the Medical Card Scheme.
Do you have a phobia/what is your greatest fear? No.
Have you ever been a patient and were you a good one? Yes and yes.
What three books would you bring to a desert island? The Damon Runyon Omnibus; Churchill's history of The Second World War; Joyce's Ulysses.
Have you a fail-safe method of dealing with stress? Stroll by the sea; view the second innings of a one-day or 20-over cricket match; sip a glass of good red wine.
What is your favourite TV or radio programme? The Discovery Channel.
If you did not live in Ireland, where would you chose to spend the rest of your life? South of France.
