With cold weather approaching, a victim of the changing seasons can be your lips. Both the weather and the sniffles can cause dry, cracked lips.

A few things can help with dry, painful lips, including staying hydrated. Licking your lips only makes things worse because when saliva evaporates, it removes natural oils.

Try brushing your lips after you’ve finished with your teeth to exfoliate dry skin. If there is no good lip balm at hand, try moisturising afterward with some olive oil, almond oil or cocoa butter.
