Transforming Healthcare in the New Europe runs from tomorrow until Friday at the National College of Ireland, IFSC, Dublin.
The conference, timed to coincide with Ireland's presidency of the European Union, will feature workshops involving healthcare planners and policy-makers from the public and private sectors, led by the Minister for Health, Mr Martin.
Government ministers from a range of accession states, including Lithuania, Malta, Poland and Cyprus, as well as European Commission officials, will also attend.
Speakers at the conference - which is sponsored by Reed Smith Healthcare Consulting, Pfizer, the Doctors Laboratory and VHI Healthcare - range from Prof Alan Maynard of the University of York to Michael Kelly, secretary general of the Department of Health and Children.
