Edible berries almost seem too good to be true. Pretty and tasty, they are also packed with fibre, vitamins, minerals and plant biochemicals called ‘phytonutrients.’
They don't come with an ingredients list printed on them, but a recent review in the journal Nutrition pointed out that berries are a rich source of compounds such as flavonoids, phenolics, anthocyanins, carotenoids, vitamins, and minerals.
So why not use them to boost porridge and other breakfast cereals, or to add a bit of kick to pancakes and home-made muffins? Or you could just eat them on their own.
