In a study of the records of 88 children referred to Waterford Regional Hospital between April and September 2005 who had been injured while trampolining, it was found that:
- Most injuries occurred during the warmer months (school holidays), especially in August, when 19 children were injured.
- Most of the injuries occurred when bouncing and 34 were secondary to falls from the trampoline.
- The injured child was supervised in only 35 cases. In 31 cases, the injury was related to the presence of others on the trampoline.
