The Bord Altranais fitness to practise hearing against Ms Ann Kelly, a domiciliary midwife, is resuming today

The Bord Altranais fitness to practise hearing against Ms Ann Kelly, a domiciliary midwife, is resuming today. It started over a year ago.

The hearing is being conducted into alleged professional misconduct by Ms Kelly during the home delivery of a baby. She has denied the allegation. Experts in obstetrics and home deliveries from England will testify on her behalf.

Following several High Court hearings she had an injuction seeking to prevent her from carrying out home deliveries lifted.

Initially the injunction was varied to allow individual women use her services. The hearing is being heard in private at the request of An Bord Altranais.
