The Government has extended the term of office of the president of the Law Reform Commission, Mr Justice Anthony J. Hederman, until June 30th next. Mr Justice Hederman's five-year term of office expired last weekend. He has agreed to remain as president until the report by the Deloitte and Touche consultancy group has been considered, and implemented as appropriate, by the Government.
This report, commissioned by the LRC at the end of 1996, deals with the strategic management initiative in the public service.
