An Air Corps marine rescue helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing while airlifting to safety a woman climber who fell from cliffs at Ardmore Head, Co Waterford yesterday. The Waterford-based helicopter had to land in field after its rotar blades became snagged in winching equipment while a crewman was being lowered down the cliffhead. Nobody was hurt in the incident and the helicopter was not damaged. The woman was transported to Cork University Hospital with serious head injuries.
