Over €20,000 worth of heroin was seized in Dublin today after the Revenue's custom's service stopped an Irish woman in her thirties who was returning from Amsterdam.

The seizure was part of a profiling by the customs service. The joint operation with Gardai resulted in the seizure of 140g of heroin with an estimated street value of €21,000.

The woman was arrested under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 and is currently being held at Ballymun Garda Station.

It is the second seizure of heroin to date this year at Dublin airport.
