A High Court action to halt disciplinary proceedings against a long-serving aide of President Mary McAleese was adjourned today.

Bridget Conway, a long-serving protocol officer at Aras an Uachtaran, claimed she was bullied and harassed by senior staff at the Áras who disapproved of her close relationship with the President. Ms Conway is seeking an injunction to stop a civil service disciplinary action. In a legal submission she has claimed the probe is bogus and instigated as part of efforts to have her removed from her job. Another legal action, due to come before the Master of the High Court will be heard alongside Ms Conway's injunction application. Mr Justice Frank Clarke adjourned the matter for two weeks. Legal teams were given until March 17 to submit and reply to affidavits before the matter will return to the High Court. PA
