Stormy weather overnight has led to power cuts for 500 homes in Moycullen Co Galway.
According to the ESB, the power losses were caused by a broken pole. A spokesman said crews were working to restore power throughout today.
Meanwhile, up to 1,500 ESB customers had their power cut off following a transformer fault just after 7 a.m in the Bridgetown/Killinick area of Co Wexford. Crews have now restored power to all the affected homes.
A freak storm on New Year's Day caused power losses to 4,000 homes in the North Dublin/South Meath region. The worst affected area was Clonlee, Co Meath, where 50 homes were without power from Saturday night to Sunday morning.
The same storm caused the delay of transatlantic flights when two Aer Lingus planes were damaged when high winds caused them to collide at Dublin Airport on Saturday.
Met Éireann has issued a Gale Warning and forecasts that south to south-west gales or strong gales will develop overnight and tomorrow morning on all coasts of Ireland and on the Irish Sea.
The bad weather is expected to continue this week with south westerly winds on Thursday and Friday expected to reach Gale Force.
