Former Bayern Munich coach Ottmar Hitzfeld says Manchester United, Real Madrid and AC Milan have all asked about his availability during his break from the game.
Hitzfeld, who lost his job at Bayern in 2004 and has not yet returned to coaching, was asked in an interview with Der Zeit newspaper whether various big clubs had asked after him.
The German confirmed there had been contact from Real and Milan and added: "Yes, there was also an enquiry from Manchester United."
Elsewhere in the interview, he said: "My wife would go with me to Manchester, to Milan, to Qatar, wherever."
Hitzfeld also said Chelsea had asked about him while he was still at Bayern.
Hitzfeld, who on the Champions League with both Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, has repeatedly said he is keen to get back into coaching after the World Cup in 2006.
