Holders Kilkenny will meet Tipperary in the National Hurling League final on Bank Holiday Monday following today's completion of the group phase games.
The All-Ireland champions were tested all the way by Wexford at Nowlan Park but in the end a draw was sufficient to secure a final spot with rivals Tipperary.
Wexford hurled ferociously in the opening period and led by 2-9 to 0-11 at half-time. But the visitors failed to put Brian Cody's men out of sight after the break and Tommy Walsh pointed to level the contest 12 minutes from time.
Wexford looked set for victory until Henry Shefflin stepped up to point a free and rescue the draw.
Tipperary warmed up for their Munster Championship clash with Clare in three weeks by recording an eight point victory over their provincial rivals at Cusack Park.
Clare started brightly but relinquished their early lead midway through the first half. Tommy Dunne played a pivotal role in that Tipp revival.
Clare should then have edged in front just before half-time but Niall Gilligan squandered a glorious scoring opportunity.
Tipperary forwards Eugene O'Neill and Lar Corbett gelled well after the restart and combined to point the visitors into an unassailable lead.
