Led by actor Martin Sheen, thousands of peace protestors - citizens and stars alike - marched through the streets of Hollywood yesterday in a demonstration against war on Iraq.

Carrying a banner proclaiming "No to War on Iraq" and "No Blood For Oil," thousands of demonstrators marched boisterously along Hollywood's celebrated Walk of Fame to Sunset Boulevard.

Police estimated the crowd at 15,000, while organizers said 25,000 people marched.

Sheen, 62, a long-time peace activist who plays the US president in the popular television series "West Wing," led the march with a group of Hollywood names, including actress Angelica Huston and director Rob Reiner.

The demonstrators braved southern California's unusually chill air to voice their conviction that the US government has no grounds for declaring war on Iraq. Some protesters carried posters of President George W. Bush embracing close ally British Prime Minister Tony Blair with the slogan, "Make Love, Not War."
