THE home of an 18-year-old man charged with taking a car without the consent of the owner on St Patrick's Day has been attacked and glass broken in a door and windows. Gardai are now protecting the house.

The accused man, Mr David Todd, asked to be remanded in custody because he feared for his safety, when he was first charged at a special sitting of the District Court in Cork last Tuesday night.

His mother Mary, his younger sister and several other people were in the house on St Michael's Road, Farranree, when it was attacked by a gang of youths with stones and sticks. A neighbour's house was also damaged.
