Motor Sport: Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello have been confirmed as the Honda drivers for next year's Formula One season.
Honda have had a miserable 2007 campaign so far with Button and Barrichello earning just one point between them after a series of mechanical problems.
The 27-year-old Button's best result has been an eighth-place finish at the French Grand Prix.
Next year will be Button's sixth as a Honda driver as the 27-year-old initially joined the team in 2003 — then known as BAR Honda.
Despite the current problems with the team, Button said: "Although we are still very firmly focused on the current season, I am excited about the opportunity that we have for 2008.
"It goes without saying 2007 has been extremely frustrating, but over the past few races we have gradually started to see some improvement.
"We have not had the performance to be competitive this year, but what we do have is a very solid team of people which has been boosted recently by some key new appointments.
"Every team has good times and bad, and I am confident our recent difficulties are now behind us and that next year looks promising."
If Barrichello sees out next year he will have contested more grands prix than any other driver.
After 241 races, the Brazilian is fast approaching the record of Riccardo Patrese who competed in 256 grands prix.
