Anyone wishing to attend the Kerrygold Horse Show in Dublin's RDS from August 8th to 12th had better move quickly - ticket sales are already 70 per cent ahead of sales this time last year, writes Agriculture Correspondent Sean MacConnell.
Show director Mr Gerry McAuliffe attributes the demand to the foot-and-mouth crisis, which led to the cancellation of so many events. Those involved in equestrian activities never got a chance to meet, while the crisis threatened the Horse Show, the highlight of their year. "They are making up for it in August and there is a sense of anticipation that I have not seen around in many years."
