The Mid Western Health Board in a statement has stated that the source of a water problem at the Limerick Regional Hospital, which had caused some concern last Friday, had been traced to the hospital kitchen and remedial action had been taken.
Dr Kevin Kelleher, director of public health, said an alternative water supply had been provided and confirmed that drinking water on the wards was safe for consumption.
Dr Kelleher added that investigations continued into the cause of the problem.
