WITH 18 shops well placed around the State, Sasha is in a good position to get its message across. And it is a simple one, colourful and comfortable, easy but carefully put together. There is non stop change here all summer, but this month probably sees the most innovative lines coming though.

As for the colours, they are sharp - vivid acids, burnt orange, aquamarine, and dazzling white. And white with indigo blue is one of the best combinations of all, and very fashionable right now.

These colours ran though everything, whether it's a little boucle suit with a cropped jacket and short skirt, or a sarong and halter neck top. The tops, many and marvellous, are good on their own and very neat for wearing under a jacket. They add a dash of daring if the colour is strong. Mix together aqua green and turquoise: it looks terrific.

Some of the indigos, checks or plains, with their clean, simple lines, are very sharp when used with white. And here that old favourite, the jumpsuit, makes a comeback. But talking about impracticality, see through crochet tops, while adding a bit of frisson, have certain drawbacks too, like being see through. Never mind. We're talking fashion, not modesty.

Fabrics are often slubbed or textured, particularly so in the in house Aine Collection label. This is in pure linen, still very fashionable, but in much softer oatmeal and cream colours. And it's highly classical, with cigarette or ultrawide pants, and wrap around skirts. It is very good as background dressing good for mixing with colours. But a perfect bit of conventional dressing would be a cream, double breasted, pure linen jacket ( £79.99), worn with matching slender trousers, (£49.99). And there is quite a strong safari group in camel, with all the usual belts, flap pockets an4 general air of outdoorness.

The choice is huge and rather confusing perhaps, but there's the promise of a lot of fun here, especially when playing around with colours. It seems the time is ripe for some gaudy days and nights. And Sasha can show you the way.
