Olympics - Cycling: Chris Hoy become the first British athlete for 100 years to win three gold medals at a single Olympics with victory in the men's individual sprint. Hoy got the better of team-mate Jason Kenny, who added the silver medal to the gold he won in the team sprint.
Victoria Pendleton earlier won women's sprint gold but Bradley Wiggins' bid for three Olympic golds was ended when he and Mark Cavendish finished eighth in the Madison.
Hoy's victory brings the total medals won by Britain's cyclists to 14 — with a strong gold contender to come via Shanaze Reade in the BMX.
The cyclists are just two medals short of the 16-medal haul in athletics from Los Angeles in the 1984 Games — a post-war high for British medals in a sport at the same Games.
Hoy, Scotland's most succesful Olympian, earlier won gold in the men's team sprint and keirin.
