A campaign to encourage the consistent use of contraception among sexually active young adults starts today.
It is the latest phase of the HSE’s “Think Contraception” campaign.
The key message in the latest initiative is “Johnny’s got you covered”.
Research shows 20 per cent of 18–25-year-olds did not consistently use contraception in the last year. Dr Stephanie O’Keeffe, director of the Crisis Pregnancy Programme, said: “Johnny represents the safety and reassurance of using a condom, but we also think that his particular enigmatic charm and sharp sense of style adds a little extra something to our sponsorship stings.
