A Mayo man who has been on hunger-strike for more than 30 days has been transferred from Castlerea prison to Roscommon County Hospital. Mr Martin Padden, a native of Binghamstown, north Mayo, was extradited from Britain last week to face charges arising from a street brawl in Geesala two years ago. Mr Padden began his hunger-strike to have his case heard in Dublin rather than in Mayo.
