San Juan - Hurricane Debby was churning toward the Bahamas late last night after sweeping north of Puerto Rico, killing one man but leaving little damage. Debby packed powerful winds and drenching rains, but most of its force stayed out at sea.
Before the storm's hit on Puerto Rico, its people were braced for the worst. Locals boarded up businesses and some 116 people went to shelters in eight towns.
A 68-year-old man died when he tried to take the satellite dish down from his home.
Meteorologists are warning that Debby could hit Florida in the next few days.
