GAA:A specially convened management committee meeting of the Cavan county board has ratified Terry Hyland as manager and Anthony Forde as trainer/selector for the Cavan senior inter-county football team. This decision was unanimously backed by the club delegates.
Hyland has led two successive Cavan U-21 sides to back to back Ulster titles and indeed he is preparing the current U-21team for an All-Ireland semi final tie with Roscommon this coming Saturday.
Anthony Forde was part of the management team at U-21 level for two years and indeed was also a key member of the Cavan Gaels management team which recaptured the SFC in Cavan last year. They will manage the Cavan senior team for the remaining part of this season and for a further 4 years.
They take over from Val Andrews who resigned last week. Cavan’s first game in the Ulster Senior Football championship is against Donegal on May 20th.
