More than 1,000 Iarnr≤d ╔ireann workers have accepted a restructuring deal that will double basic earnings. The workers include depot staff, ticket checkers, traffic co-ordinators, freight personnel and shunters, writes Padraig Yeates.
The workers will now earn between £20,380 and £23,432 a year for working a basic 39- hour week. Locomotive drivers have voted by two to one to accept a settlement in their long-standing parity claim with DART drivers.
