Punk-rock veterans The Stooges, led by iconic frontman Iggy Pop, will be performing at the Electric Picnic festival in Co Laois this summer.
Cabaret, theatre, arts and crafts, dance and comedy will all form part of the festival now in its fourth year.
The 32,500 capacity, three-day music event will take place at Stradbally Hall, Co Laois from Friday, August 31st until Sunday, September 2nd.
Tickets for the festival are on sale at 9am today. Details of the first of an estimated 200 acts were confirmed yesterday.
It will the first Irish performance in more than a decade for New York hip-hop group the Beastie Boys. Ex-Blur singer Damon Albarn's new group, The Good, the Bad and the Queen, will play to an Irish audience for the first time.
The line-up also includes Icelandic singer Björk, ex-Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker, Primal Scream and The Jesus and Mary Chain.
US collective the Polyphonic Spree, dance-rock group LCD Soundsystem, Modest Mouse, Craig Armstrong and Soul II Soul will also be performing.
The festival, which was launched last night in Dublin, will also feature art, theatre, readings and comedy.
The Leviathan Think Tank, a political debate tent hosted by economist and broadcaster David McWilliams, makes a return, and promises a weekend of poetry, theatre, satire and storytelling.
The International Comedy Club, meanwhile, will be hosted by Des Bishop.
Lost Vagueness, the theatrical cabaret group, will have a host of stylists on hand, while Fossett's Circus will add to the carnival atmosphere.
The Village Green will host an arts and crafts area, and trad sessions, céilís, line dancing and dancing competitions will be held at the Village Hall. A farmers' market will sell local produce each morning.
The Body and Soul Village, a chill-out zone for those in need of a break from the music, will offer holistic treatments and organic food.
The size of the campsite has been increased, while the Boutique campsite will feature beach huts, bivouacs, tipis, double-decker "Bus Beds" and "Podpads".
Tickets for the event cost €220, including booking fee and VAT, for three days including camping.
Electric Picnic began as a one-day event in 2004, but grew to a weekend-long festival within a year, and became a three day affair in 2006.
