Woman dies after being hit by truck
A 79-year-old pedestrian died yesterday after being struck by an articulated truck in Phibsboro, Dublin. The woman was crossing the North Circular Road near St Peter's Church at 12.40pm when hit. She was later pronounced dead at the Mater hospital
Gardaí in Kells, Co Meath, are investigating a serious road traffic collision involving a car and articulated truck which occurred on the N3 at Kilmainham on Monday at 12.50am.
A passenger in the car, a man in his 40s, received serious head injuries and last night remained in a serious condition in Beaumont hospital. The male drivers of the truck and car were both taken to Navan hospital, but were later released. Gardaí are asking anyone with any information in relation to the crash to contact them at Kells Garda station on 046 924 0999.
Gardaí seek missing youth
Gardaí in Finglas are searching for a 15-year-old youth who went missing from his grandmother's home at Dunsink Lane in Finglas, north Dublin, on May 3rd. Patrick Cawley, described as being 152cm tall, 50.8kg with blond hair and blue eyes, was last seen wearing a navy track suit, navy polo shirt and black and red Nike runners. He has family members living in Blanchardstown, Ringsend and the city centre and may be sleeping rough in these areas, gardaí said.
Appeal over theft of Zara clothing
Gardaí investigating the theft of €500,000 worth of Zara clothing from a trailer parked in the Airport Business Park last month have appealed to the public for information. The trailer stolen on April 30th has since been located, but gardaí are attempting to locate ladies, gents and children's clothing as well as bags and belts. They are "anxious that any member of the public, who may be offered any of these items for sale at a market or car-boot sales or by door-to-door sellers", contact them at Santry Garda station 01 666 4000 or Dublin airport Garda station 01 666-4959.
