Claim of eye injury dismissed

Anne Mulhall, of Galmoy, Co Kilkenny, brought an action against Margaret Higgins after she claimed that some wax got into her left eye in November 1999.
Judge Olive Buttimer said it was difficult to understand why Ms Mulhall would not have sought medical treatment on the day if wax had entered her eye.
The judge said she believed Ms Mulhall had developed dry eye syndrome after the treatment and had incorrectly associated that condition with the waxing.
