Two horses stolen from stud farm

Gardaí in Arklow are trying to track down thieves who stole two horses and a horsebox from a stud farm in south Wicklow.

They drove into the yard of Ballymoyle stud farm around 9pm on Wednesday, hooked up to the horsebox and loaded up the two valuable horses from their stables and pens.

The two horses are worth over €20,000. One is a four-year-old pedigree Irish draught mare in foal, and the second animal is a 3-4-year-old cob. Alexandra Moores, the owner of Ballymoyle stud, discovered the horses were stolen the next morning.

She would like to hear from anyone if they have any information that would lead to the recovery of the horses. And people can contact the gardaí if they think they can help.

Her Irish draught mare took part in the Dublin Horse Show.

She is dapple grey, with white legs, white blaze on her face, white underbelly and has mud fever legs.

The cob is a dark brown colour, almost black, with white legs, white face and white splash underbelly.
