Protest over jailed bricklayers today
Supporters of three bricklayers jailed last week for refusing to stop picketing a building site will call for the release of the three men during a protest march through Dublin city-centre today.
Families of the "Ballybrack three" yesterday called on building workers, trade unionists and members of the public to support the protest which is due to leave the Central Bank plaza at 2pm. It will proceed to Parnell Square where it will gather outside a building site operated by Collen Construction, the company which began committal proceedings after the men continued to picket at a site in Ballybrack despite a High Court injunction restraining them.
Keith Kelly (37), Andrew Clarke (24) and William McClurg (50) have been in Mountjoy Prison since Friday. Family members yesterday said the men had no plans to purge their contempt and would remain in jail until they received a commitment from Collen that it would comply with its registered employment agreement.

Belfast postal workers are considering an offer to end their two-week unofficial strike after talks with Royal Mail to resolve the dispute resumed yesterday. The Royal Mail offer will allow a third party review on employee/management relations, on the condition that postal workers return to work immediately.
Hundreds of postal workers and their supporters yesterday held a rally at City Hall organised by the Belfast and District Trade Unions Council.
Over 200 postal workers at Tomb Street depot began strike action two weeks ago after talks between Royal Mail management and the Communication Workers' Union broke down.
