The Garda Press Office said it had not ruled out the possibility that the man was a foreign national.

The white man had short black hair, was of thin build and was between 6ft and 6ft 2 in height. He was wearing a grey short- sleeved T-shirt with "Valee Bravado Chile" written on the front.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact gardaí at Donnybrook on 01-6669200 or the Garda confidential number 1800-666111.
