A round-up of today's other stories in brief...
Burst main leaves homes without water
Thousands of homes in south Dublin were left without water for much of yesterday because of a burst water main.
Dublin City Council said houses in Dublin 4 were left with reduced pressure or no water after a water main burst on the Stillorgan Road.
The fault, which occurred yesterday morning, was repaired by 4pm, but it took several hours for full supplies to return to many homes.
Shot doorman leaves hospital
The doorman injured in a weekend shooting outside a Limerick city pub has been released from hospital.
The victim, who is in his 30s, was hit when a gunman on a bicycle opened fire outside the Spotted Dog pub in Janesboro shortly after 7pm on Sunday night.
The doorman was struck a number of times by shots fired from a handgun and was lucky to escape with his life, according to some sources.
"A few inches either way and he could have been killed," said one Garda source.
The victim's injuries were not life threatening and he was released from the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick yesterday.
Gardaí are investigating a number of motives for the attack and some sources believe the gunman may have been refused entry to the establishment earlier that day.
Local area plan to be reissued
Dublin City Council has put its proposed local area plan for Ballsbridge out to public consultation again after it emerged that information in the original notice was incorrect.
The draft Ballsbridge Local Area Plan was advertised in January and submissions were accepted up to the appointed deadline.
However, a spokeswoman for Dublin City Council said there was an omission of information from the original advertisement and so a new advert had been prepared for the newspapers.
She also said the rezoning required for the plan would be put through a separate consultation process, as it constituted a variation to the Dublin City Development Plan.
