Body of woman found in Belfast may have been there over a year
The body of a woman discovered in Donegall Avenue in Belfast on Tuesday may have been at the location for more than a year. The PSNI is appealing for members of the public to come forward to identify the woman.
A PSNI spokesman said the woman had dark hair and was wearing Primark Active khaki trousers; a man’s Topman top (size 42) and size five white Puma track shoes.
A postmortem yesterday showed no obvious signs of violence. Police are continuing their investigations into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
First Johnstons folk gig in 40 years
Singer-songwriter Paul Brady has announced plans for the Johnstons folk group’s first show together in more than 40 years.
He takes to the stage with Michael and Lucy Johnston and folk icon Mick Moloney on June 25th for a show at the Johnstons weekend music festival.
Proceeds will go to establish the Adrienne Johnston Music Fund, to provide bursaries to Slane area students wishing to study music at college.
Man on murder charge remanded
A Dublin man charged with a murder in Tallaght more than three years ago has been remanded in custody to Cloverhill District Court on May 5th.
Paul Zambra (34) appeared at Cloverhill yesterday charged with the murder of Seán McMahon (36) at Donamore Avenue on November 14th, 2007.
Mr Zambra was arrested at Inagh Road, Ballyfermot, this week; he was initially remanded in custody at Tallaght District Court.
Antrim crash victim (19) named
A man who died in a single vehicle car crash in Co Antrim in the early hours of yesterday morning has been named as 19-year-old Jamie Adams from Ballyclare in the county
A 19-year-old man was arrested and is assisting the PSNI with their inquiries. Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward.
The crash occurred in the Ballyeaston area of Ballyclare, Co Antrim, shortly after 1.10am.
Teenager in court on murder charge
A teenager was remanded in custody last night after being charged with the murder of 19-year-old David Byrne at Emmet Court, Inchicore on April 19th.
The 17-year-old appeared before the Dublin District Court last night and remanded in custody until April 28th.
