India wrapped up a historic series win against Pakistan today after they cruised to an innings and 131-run victory in the decisive third Test in Rawalpindi.
Sourav Ganguly's men dominated the fourth day, taking wickets at regular intervals as the hosts never looked like making India bat for a second time.
They were eventually dismissed for 245 with spinner Anil Kumble the pick of the Indian bowlers, claiming four for 47 from eight overs.
Asim Kamal top scored for Pakistan with a gritty 60 not out but it proved to be in vain as India claimed victory in the first Test series to be played between the teams in Pakistan since 1989-90.
"We are elated," Ganguly said on Sky Sports immediately after the match. "We are very happy to be on the winning side.
"We've been playing well the past two years and came close in Australia and England, and now we've done it. It's good to finally win a series.
