Sriharikota - India entered an elite club of commercial satellite-launching nations yesterday when a rocket blasted off from a southern seaport with two foreign payloads. The Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle, PSLV-C2, lifted off from Sriharikota on the Bay of Bengal coast at 11.52 a.m. (7.22 a.m. Irish time) watched by the Prime Minister, Mr Atal Behari Vajpayee, and experts of the Indian Space Research Organisation.
