A truck driver who suffered shoulder injuries while helping to set up a piece of unloading equipment for a delivery to a building company has secured €206,000 in damages at the High Court.
Brendan Meehan (61), Whitechurch Place, Ballyboden, Dublin, sued Priority Construction Ltd, Clontarf Road, Dublin, over the injury sustained during a delivery to the company on October 10th, 2009. Liability was admitted and the case was before the court for assessment of damages only.
Mr Meehan had been assisting a vehicle operator when a forklift attachment fell and Mr Meehan fell heavily on his right shoulder. Mr Justice Seán Ryan assessed total damages, including loss of past and future earnings, at €206,942, and awarded costs to Mr Meehan.
