Manager Mick O’Dwyer will be without two key players for Kildare’s Leinster FootballChampionship quarter-final clash with Carlow at Croke Park on Sunday.

Forwards Tadgh Fennin and Eddie McCormack have suffered hamstring injuries and are doubtful to make the substitutes bench, however, centre back Glen Ryan is fully fit and is expected to start.

O’Dwyer, however, has welcomed a decision taken by the GAA's Management Committee deeming Niall Buckley eligible to play for both club and county this season.

Buckley had spent the last year resident in Chicago playing club football with local side St Brendan’s but returned home to Kildare 12 days ago.He is back playing for Sarsfields and is expected to line out for Kildare at the weekend.

The Management Committee has refused a London request to participate in the qualifier round of the Bank of Ireland Football Championship on the basis that London had not lost a first round game proper.

London’s opening championship game against Mayo was cancelled due to the foot-and-mouth situation.

Meanwhile, the 2000 and 2001 Eircell Hurling All-Stars are scheduled to play in Argentina next year, however, the trip is subject to details being finalised.
