Golf:US captain Rosie Jones has selected Tour players Juli Inkster and Sherri Steinhauer as her assistants for the 2011 Solheim Cup at Killeen Castle in Meath.
The trio will lead the Americans against Europe in their bid to retain the trophy in the 12th edition of the biennial Ryder Cup-style competition.
"Juli, Sherri and I have been long-time friends and competitors on the LPGA as well as team mates on several Solheim Cups played over a 20-year period," said Jones.
"Our trio of leadership of the US Solheim Cup team will include the same passion, dedication and competitiveness that we displayed as players."
Inkster, a 49-year-old veteran of eight Solheim Cups, has won a US record 18 points in the competition with a singles mark of 6-1-1.
Steinhauer (47) has played in four Solheim Cups for a career record of 6-3-4.
The 12th Solheim Cup will be played at Jack Nicklaus designed Killeen Castle in Meath from September 23-25. The Americans, who beat Europe 16-12 in Sugar Grove, Illinois last year, lead the series 8-3.
