TWO inner-city community activists charged with possession of firearms and assault offences were further remanded when they appeared before the Dublin District Court yesterday.
Mr Noel Kirwan (42), of Sean O'Casey Avenue, Summerhill, Dublin, is charged with having a firearm or imitation firearm to intimidate at Ballybough Road last September 17th.
Mr Donal Fennelly (26), of Ballybough House, Ballybough, Dublin is charged with assaulting a man at St Joseph's Mansions, Killarney Street, last October 5th.
In court yesterday, prosecuting gardai asked for a further remand so that the DPP's directions on the case could be obtained. The court heard gardai were monitoring both men's bail.
Judge William Hamill was told by solicitors for the defendants that they would consent to a remand. He remanded both on continuing bail to January 7th.
