Vincent Plunkett (80) was found in a pool of blood in the bedroom of his south inner city home and had sustained multiple stab wounds.

Detective believe the victim may have known his assailant.

"There was no sign of forced entry at all in the flat so we'd be fairly confident that the victim knew his killer and let him into the property," a source told today's Irish Times.
